::: Background and objectives
Since its creation in 1991 as the QoL Newsletter, the mission of the PRO Newsletter has been to encourage and facilitate the rapid dissemination and exchange of information on HRQOL and Patient-Reported Outcomes within the scientific community, such as announcements of meetings, congresses and books or journals dedicated to these topics. It is a biannual publication distributed free of charge in 75 countries. Although the PRO Newsletter was not originally intended to present in-depth articles on methodology or study results, we have received increasing numbers of communications and research papers from various sources (QOL experts, clinicians and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry), wishing to share their experience in the field. Some of these papers have by now been referenced in academic publications.

We are pleased that the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Mapi Research Trust have all agreed to be part of the newly constituted Editorial Board.

The Spring issue is published just before the ISPOR Annual International Meeting for distribution during the meeting and the Fall issue is due by the ISPOR European Congress and ISOQOL conference. |
